Grant Morrison is a name you have to buy and, when trolling through comics there are a LOT of names you have to buy when it comes to Vampirella...but this isn't his best work.Ultimately it is a Vampirella story and, I don't know, maybe its her outfit being so revealing that the writers get blocked when it comes to making unique stories? I don't know, but it's still not really worth the name attached to it.Warren Ellis had a better run in Volume 2, but it's still worth the read to see Grant try so hard to, really, accomplish not much.
This was the First Vampirella comic I've read in my 55 years. Great story and just kept getting better and better as the story went on. I ordered a few more of these master series. I am on book two and it is also good. Also, the two short stories included are also very entertaining. The art work is outstanding. The book itself seems well put together although the pages are a little thin.
Love the collection and enjoyed the continued story lines. Vampires is one of my favorite characters. I love having so many story in one place.
First Vampirella book ever for me, really enjoyed it. Definitely buying more!
Better than many of Vampi's older stories , the writing is good and consistent and the action is great. Most of all the heroine is VERY easy on the eyes.
I got what I wanted, I just wish it been handled a little more carefully. It was going into the loaner library anyway, so I am not concerned, but if it had been for my collection, then I would have probably been upset. Especially since it looked like it happened before packaging.
Good art. Stories are just so-so. I read these books as a kid. They seem to have lost their flair now. 2 1/2 stars.
Vampirella constitutes every young boys wet dream in the form of a graphic novel, featuring as cover art for many issues, a gorgeous, bodacious, voluptuous Caucasian (?) Brunette, who in herself, is enough to entice every young boy undergoing hormonal changes, and is a graphic novel I religiously subscribed to and paid for on a weekly basis, and is fondly remembered as one of the best graphic novels that was comic fodder during my youth; which constantly featured illustrations by the legendary Frank de Frazzetta and Boris Vallejo, who have now been immortalized by the world of Comicdom as two of the greatest contributors to the field of graphic illustrations, and is one of the few surviving graphic illustration series that have now been immortalized in Hardback Archives as well inspiring new off shoots such as the Vampirella Masters Series, which does not contain any form of art work that lives up to expectations formed as a result of early Vampi comics.
